The iPod has a monopoly

I'll start off with some companies who also have a monopoly. BAND-AID, for example. Every time when I got a cut, I never asked my mom for a bandage, I always asked for a BAND-AID. Another example, Kleenex. Every time I needed a tissue, I would ask whomever I am with for a Kleenex, rather than the proper term, tissue. Last example, Google. When someone tells you to search the web for something, they don't say "Search it", on the contrary they say, "Google it". Additionally, Google is actually in the dictionary; so there's no question that Google has a monopoly. So you get the basic idea of what I mean. Now to the point: the iPod. About a year ago, in my Geography class, I could always remember my teacher saying, "Okay class, put your iPod's away", and there were probably only 2 iPod's in the class out of the 15, in my estimation. And in this case, the proper term is MP3 Player. Also, a few weeks ago when I walked into my History class, I saw a note on the blackboard stating: "There is to be no cell phones, iPod's, or play stations in the classroom. If seen they will be confiscated!". So I guess MP3 Players are no longer called MP3 Players, they are simply called, iPod's. And therefore, the iPod has a monopoly. Sure it's obvious, but it's interesting to know. And I can't see why Microsoft is going to even bother trying to compete with the iPod. Like I can't see a new product line of Kleene... *ahem*, I mean tissue being released that could possibly make Kleenex obsolete; it's just not possible.
